Novicell is looking for a Business Development Director in London

We are looking for an experienced, focused and creative Senior Business Development Manager to help grow Novicell’s already expanding client base within software (websites, e-commerce) and digital marketing, etc.

Novicell is a full-service Digital Agency. We are about 30 good people in our London office, and you will also have over 300 great colleagues across 8 offices in 5 countries. Our offices are in London, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Aarhus (Denmark), Copenhagen and Oslo. 

We have more than 20 years' experience helping people do business online. From digital strategy, website design and user experience, to web development, digital marketing and business intelligence, our services cover the full online commercial lifecycle. 

The role 

With a ton of experience in other similar roles, you will come with an agency background and a minimum of 3 years of experience within our industry and know our business like the back of your hand. You want to be the best in the industry, and you want to tell everyone why Novicell is the best in the industry. 

We deliver honest, tangible and meaningful results to our customers. You’re the first person many of our customers will come into contact with. As such, you must be approachable and at the same time knowledgeable of our solutions.  

This is a London-based role. Once COVID-19 restrictions are loosened in England, we would expect the successful candidate to work from our offices in Liverpool Street, London, EC2M. 

Your day-to-day tasks

  • You will use your existing network to generate outbound leads 
  • You will build a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities to deliver against sales targets and ensure your and your team’s KPI’s are met 
  • Your agency-side experience will also complement the inbound strategy of our marketing team, whom you will work with very closely 
  • You will assist more junior sales executives in their own activities, providing them with mentorship and guidance 
  • You will work closely with the CCO to understand and optimise the customer sales cycle from lead generation and product demos to pricing, negotiation and closing  
  • You stay abreast of industry trends, and ensure that Novicell remains ahead of the curve 
  • You will represent Novicell at events and trade shows to network and create leads 
  • Identify future business and partnership opportunities 
  • You will manage and grow existing accounts (account management) 

About you

  • You have at least 3 years' experience in similar roles within the agency industry
  • You have a track record to match your experience 
  • You have selling skills built on trust and reliability 
  • You are great at identifying and developing new business 
  • You are a keen negotiator who does not take “no” for an answer 
  • You can summarise technical and commercial information for non-technical/commercial people 
  • You can effectively prioritise & manage your own time 
  • You meet deadlines 
  • You have good IT skills (Microsoft Office, Slack etc.) 

Your profile

  • You are a good listener, and able to talk to people of multiple levels of seniority 
  • You are self-motivated, energetic and persistent 
  • You are a good communicator 
  • You prize trust and good business over making a quick buck

Most importantly, you are diligent, but not to the extent that you are a workaholic; nice, but not so nice that you let things slip. At Novicell we are both; to our customers and to each other. This means we treat each other properly and provide a high level of service to our customers.

Salary & benefits

  • Basic salary £40,000 to £60,000 
  • Uncapped commission 
  • OTE between £90,000 and £120,000

We will conduct the application process remotely. After your initial submission, we’ll have an initial call with the candidates we are interested in taking to the next stage. 

From there, the next step will take the format of a short presentation. We will brief you beforehand on what we would like you to present and how (relevant to the job, of course). 

The final stage will be a de-brief (all applicants) and a final Q&A session for those who are through to the final round.
