Sitecore is particularly popular with bigger and more complex companies who need specialised solutions, and this is a segment where Novicell continues to gain more customers. That's why this acquisition is important for our continued growth, explains Per Kirchner, CEO of Novicell.
"C-Tilsted's core competence is Sitecore, and it's this competence we want to strengthen in Novicell. We are experiencing an increasing demand for Sitecore from our customers, which is why we need to be stronger on this platform. This acquisition is therefore strategically important for us," says Kirchner.
Novicell works with Sitecore for industry giants such as LINAK, Kamstrup and DEIF, but Sitecore is also increasingly becoming the platform requested by customers in Novicell's international offices, explains Kirchner.
"Sitecore is a popular platform internationally, particularly in the UK and Spain, where we are experiencing strong growth. Acquiring C-Tilsted should therefore be seen as a means to strengthen Novicell internationally - not just technically but also from a relationship perspective. Christian Tilsted (owner of C-Tilsted, red.) has worked in London for several years so his network will also be an advantage for our London office," says Kirchner, who is impressed at how well managed the company is.
"We have been communicating closely with Christian Tilsted over the last couple of years and have always known they were talented. But we continue to be impressed after getting even closer to the company," he says.
Core competence provides excellent foundation
C-Tilsted has offices in Ebeltoft just 45 minutes drive from Novicell's headquarters in Aarhus, a set-up that will remain in place after the acquisition.
"The office is close to the airport and there is a strong base of local employees, and our plan is to strengthen our presence locally. I only see this as a strength," says Kirchner.
At C-Tilsted, Christian Tilsted is looking forward to the two companies merging.
"Novicell has a name and status that will allow us to work in a broader context and with larger projects. Meanwhile our core competence is part of a strategic focus area in Novicell, which naturally gives our employees a great foundation for quickly becoming an integrated part of the company," he says.
The acquisition will see Novicell's headcount increase to 215 across offices in Denmark, Spain and England.
