Methods and Tools

Methodology makes all the difference

During a busy working day, development, whether big or small, is essential for managing and documenting the jobs you are working on.

All employees in Novicell's development department work according to a shared methodology, which is based on a mix of clever ideas from training and the industry, combined with many years' experience of web-based software.

Scrum

Novicell works using the 'scrum' method. Scrum is based on user participation and allows for new ideas, opportunities and limits, all of which benefit web projects.

The scrum method also benefits from a financial perspective, because it becomes easier to meet a deadline and budget as the team becomes better at prioritising jobs. Productivity is often higher when a project is split into manageable tasks.

Novicell also offers sparring as part of a Scrum implementation in your company.

Fogbugz

For almost all development projects, Novicell uses the FogBugz project development tool. FogBugz works as a focal point for the project manager and employees, but the benefit is that the customer can also be an active part of the project.

Fogbugz provides a tangible, updated and accurate status during the development process, and customers can follow the project's development down to the smallest detail.

All parts of the process are also visible, so that all project participants can follow progress and use of resources. All relevant documents, links and images are gathered in one place, and all decisions and changes are saved in the in-built history. So nothing is forgotten in e-mails or phone conversations, and all agreements are registered.

All in all, FogBugz facilitates project management so that the team prioritises jobs correctly and stays on schedule. FogBugz is easy to use and addresses the key project questions: What? Who? For how long?
